Job Summary
Plasma cutting machine operators set up and operate plasma cutting machines designed to cut and shape excess material from a metal workpiece using a plasma torch at a temperature hot enough to melt and cut the metal by burning it and works at a speed that blows away the molten metal from the clear cut.
Job Skills Required
- Knowledge of the characteristics of various kinds of plasma torches, their qualities and applications.
- Monitor and operate a plasma cutting machine according to regulations.
- Operate precision measuring equipment
- Dispose of cutting waste material
- Interpret geometric dimensions and tolorances
- Record production data for quality control
Job Summary
CAD drafters create detailed schematics that are utilized in the cutting of steel plates. These detailed technical drawings incorporate the input of engineers, architects, and surveyors and can specify dimensions, codes, and production methods.
Job Skills Required
- Create 2D Model Designs based on Project Requirements
- Review and analyze drawing and sketches to determine appropriate connections
- Collaborate with other detailers assigned to the various divisions of the project to ensure details are coordinated to prevent conflict and errors in the fabrication and erection stages.
- Review drawings for detailing that does not adhere to company or Project standards and advise other Detailers
- Interpret geometric dimensions and tolorances
- Respond to any requests for changes from the customer and work with the Production and Project manager in troubleshooting client problems
